Requirements at the time of application
- Master program, Undergraduate research student
- Credits in mathematics and/or probabilities/statistics in superior grades in undergraduate program
- If interested in economic analysis, credits in microeconomics and/or econometrics in superior grades in undergraduate program
- Experiences in machine learning or other computational analyses are welcome
- Doctoral program, Graduate research student
- Credits in mathematics and probabilities/statistics in superior grades in undergraduate or master program
- If interested in economic analysis, credits microeconomics, macroeconomics, and econometrics in superior grades in master program
- Experiences in machine learning or other computational analyses are welcome
Topics and fields
- Social learning, Knowledge/information transmission
- Behavior / social analysis using network science
- Behavior / social analysis using artificial intelligence / machine learning
- Artificial life
- Economic analysis of natural capital use (water, energy, etc.)
Screening
- Please send 1) resume, 2) photocopy of academic transcript, 3) research proposal, 4) graduation/master thesis or any equivalent academic paper (if not written in English/Japanese, send English abstract) to the lab by email two months before the official admission period at the latest. If you get no reply in two weeks, please resend the message. If we judge, at this stage, it is difficult to accept an applicant, we will inform her/him of that. Otherwise, the applicant will be screened in the official admission process. Please refer to the application guideline for the official procedure.
- The lab takes applicants’ research plans very seriously in our screening process, especially to examine applicants’ logical thinking, creativity/uniqueness and basic knowledge on their fields of interests.

出願の段階で求める要件
- 前期課程、学部研究生
- 学部レベルの数学か確率・統計の関連科目を、優秀な成績で単位取得
- 経済分野の場合、学部レベルのミクロ経済学か計量経済学を、優秀な成績で単位取得
- 機械学習のプログラミング経験を歓迎
- 後期課程、大学院研究生
- 学部レベル以上の数学と確率・統計の関連科目を、優秀な成績で単位取得
- 経済分野の場合、修士課程レベルのミクロ経済学・マクロ経済学・計量経済学を、優秀な成績で単位取得
- 機械学習のプログラミング経験を歓迎

選考
- 遅くとも正式な入試出願期間の２ヶ月前に、研究室宛に、１）履歴書、２）成績証明書のコピー、３）研究計画、４）卒業論文・修士論文またはそれに相当する学術論文（英語か日本語出ない場合、英語の概要を送って下さい）をメールで送って下さい。メールを送っても２週間以上返信がない場合は、再度メールを送って下さい。この段階で研究室として受け入れが困難であると判断される場合は、その旨連絡します。それ以外は、正式な入試選考の中で審査しますので、募集要項に従って出願して下さい。正式な出願手続きは募集要項を参照して下さい。
- 当研究室では、研究計画を重視しています。特に、論理的思考、創造性・独自性、当該分野の基礎知識の有無を評価します。
